RACE=Recreational and Christian Evangelism
The Recreation Ministry of Oakwood Baptist Church is committed to minister to the whole person by promoting spiritual, physical and mental growth. The recreation ministry of Oakwood exists to reach out to our community in a casual setting to testify to the gospel of God's grace; to encourage seekers and believers alike to participate in recreation, leisure, and sports activities that strengthen their families as well as their spiritual, emotional, and physical well being.
Opportunities for adults currently include: Men's and Ladies' Softball, Women's Self-Defense Classes, Golf tournaments, Bassmasters Fishing Club, Run for God running class, and Men’s Basketball.
We offer Gymnastics and Tumbling classes along with Upward Sport’s programs for children that include flag football, soccer, basketball and cheerleading for age 4 through the 8th grade. For more information on “Upward Sport's” ministries, please visit http://www.upward.com/programs.htm.
