Surviving the Holidays
Sunday, December 10, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
For most people, Thanksgiving and Christmas usually bring to mind thoughts of family, friends, presents, and fellowship around the table. But for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, these holidays can be painful. I remember how difficult it was for my family when my sister passed away in 2002. I am thankful that my wife and family were here for me but my other two sisters, who lived four hundred miles away, had no one. I wish that there had been a specific ministry in place to help to deal with the grief.
There is help and hope as you navigate the Christmas season.
Are you worrying about how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated?
The GriefShare Surviving the Holidays seminar offers a safe place for people to learn how to deal with all the demands and emotions the holidays can bring. You’ll learn:
- How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
- What to do about traditions and other coming changes
- Helpful tips for surviving social events
- How to discover hope for your future
You will also experience a great time of connection with others who can relate to the grief you are feeling while being ministered to by our church staff here at Oakwood.
This seminar will be held on December 10 at 6:00pm.
I hope you will join us for a special evening.
