Oakwood’s student ministry REFUGE exists to provide opportunities for 6th- 12th grade students to love God, love people, and make a difference for the kingdom and the glory of God. The driving passion and theme of our student ministry is the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe the good news that gives life is the good news that transforms life. In all that we do, we hope for our students to be captured by the redeeming love of God (manifested in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus) and constrained by this love to live in godliness and spread the good news of Christ through word and deed.
There are three primary opportunities for students to get involved in what God is doing at REFUGE.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
This is an intensive study and discussion time with the purpose of expanding students' knowledge of the Word of God so as to be more in love with God and more equipped for godly living.
Sundays @ 9:30am in Love Building
Refuge Gatherings
This is our mid-week student worship service where students engage in passionate worship and prayer and receive a message from the Word of God. Snacks and fellowship time follow the service.
Wednesday @ 7:00pm in Love Building
Life Groups
Student life groups are grade and gender-specific small group gatherings designed to connect students with students on a personal level in an environment centered on devotion, prayer and fellowship. It is a time to encourage and build one another up to live out love and boldness for Christ.
Sundays @ 6:00-7:30pm on campus (Middle School)
Sundays @ 6:00-8:00pm off-campus host homes (High School)
